BOOK YOUR VISIT
We are introducing a new way of welcoming you to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, so we have created some guidelines so you fully understand how to visit us when we re-open.
Expired Tickets and Ticket Extensions
Firstly, we want to say thank you to our loyal visitors for your continued support throughout the course of this year - it hasn't been easy for any of us and we have loved welcoming you back to the Dockyard!
Prior to the second lockdown, we offered existing ticket holders the opportunity to extend their existing tickets, or the option to buy a new ticket at 30% off. The closing date to take advantage of that was the 31 October 2020 and we want to say thank you to all of you who took advantage of either of those options.
For those visitors with valid 12 month tickets which couldn't be used during lockdown 2, we can confirm we will automatically extend your ticket for a period of 28 days, the period of time that the site will be closed.
We are only able to offer extensions to visitors for the days that the site is not open.
We cannot offer extensions for days when people are unable to travel because of local lockdowns or restrictions. Visitors can reschedule bookings for alternative days as soon as the booking slots are back online. We will announce when time slots are open again on our social channels.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon - make sure you like and follow us on our social channels where we will be posting regular updates on re-opening, as well as sharing fascinating stories about our attractions and collections.
Booking Your Time Slot
We want to make sure that everyone who visits the Dockyard is safe, so therefore we require all visitors to book a time slot to visit the dockyard, or into our attractions in Gosport. This is to ensure that we monitor capacity and can maintain social distancing at all times.
If you have extended your ticket, or you have bought a new Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ticket, you will need to follow the following steps to come and visit everytime you want to visit as many times you like until your ticket expires:
- Visit our Returning Customer Portal here to book your day and time slot
- Put in your 14 digit pass ID found on your original ticket and on your original confirmation email and click enter – this will open the returner tickets which will have a £0 value ticket
- Book the date and time slot and complete your transaction
- You will receive a Print at Home ticket that you will need to bring with you. This will be scanned on entry to the Dockyard or at our attractions in Gosport.
- You don’t need to print this ticket – they can be scanned on your phone but you WILL need to show it to gain access
This ticket books your space on the Dockyard - don't forget to bring your Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ticket as that will give you access to your chosen attractions!
What do I need to show at the gate?
Visitors who have extended their tickets or bought brand new tickets will need to show the following on arrival:
- Your Original or new Ticket - this can be printed out or on your phone
- Your PHD Time Booking Confirmation
Your Time Booking Confirmation will need to be scanned on entry and exit of the dockyard as this helps us to maintain and monitor our safe capacity limits.
NB - You will always need to book a time slot to gain entry onto the dockyard - including the attractions in Gosport.
What do I need to gain access to each individual attraction (such as HMS Victory/HMS Warrior/Mary Rose etc)?
You will need to have your PURCHASED ORIGINAL TICKETas this will allow you access into the attractions you have paid for.
If one of the attractions you previously have bought a ticket for is closed (such as Action Stations or Horrible Histories), you will be able to have entry into one of our other exciting attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. This will be your new selection for the remainder of your ticket until it expires.
You can print your ticket at home or you can show the ticket on your phone or tablet.
