General Opening Times
Changes to winter opening times
From 4 November, we'll be moving to winter opening times for Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (10am - 5pm). The Royal Navy Submarine Museum will be closed every Monday and Tuesday but open 10am - 4.30pm for the other days. Explosion Museum will be closed Monday to Friday from 4th November but open 10am - 4.30pm (last entry 4pm) every Saturday and Sunday. All sites in Portsmouth and Gosport operate winter opening times until 31 March 2020.
100% bag search in operation
For the safety of our visitors and staff, we operate a 100% bag search policy on-site. That means everytime you enter the dockyard, we'll need to search your bag. We'll be as quick as possible while you wait.
Refurbishing The Victory Gallery
From 3 November 2019, a fantastic refurbishment project will begin inside The Victory Gallery as new interactive exhibits are created which will tell the story of Victory's own preservation project and her history at the Battle of Trafalgar. This exciting transformation will require us to close the gallery until 3 April 2020 when it will reopen to visitors. Alongside the gallery, a new 'dry dock experience' will see visitors walk under Nelson's flagship - an exciting experience for all.
