Whilst adventurers never sleep, we're letting you know that our opening times will change over the festive period ever so slightly. Take a look at what's changing and when to visit us during Christmas and the new year.

We'll be closing Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on Monday 24 December until Wednesday 26 December. We will reopen on Thursday 27 December. We'll also be open on New Year's Eve as normal but we'll be opening slightly later on New Year's Day at 11am. Take a look at our top 5 festive favourites below:

Our top 5 festive favourites

1. Don't miss out on Tattoo: British Tattoo Art Revealed

Warm up inside the Babcock Gallery and see Tattoo: British Tattoo Art Revealed. The exhibition has welcomed tattoo lovers from near and far and continues to offer plenty of wow moments. See the exhibition until 6 January 2019 before it’s gone for good. We're offering visitors who would just like to visit this exhibition a special ticket for just £8 online.

2. See history brought to life with Dockyard Alive

Ever wondered how different eras of the Royal Navy celebrated Christmas? Join our Dockyard Alive team as they take you back in time to past Christmas's during wartime and the rein of Queen Victoria. Ask them how they ate their Christmas feast onboard HMS M.33 or find out how sailors celebrated Christmas during the 19th century. All these activities are included in a Full Navy Ticket.

3. View HMS Queen Elizabeth alongside Portsmouth Naval Base

See the UK's largest aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth alongside Portsmouth Naval Base this season from three different vantage points. View her from the poop deck of HMS Victory, take a photo from the viewing platform of The National Museum of the Royal Navy Portsmouth or on a Harbour Tour. All these activities are included in a Full Navy Ticket.

4. Feel closer to Portsmouth with the Warrior webcam

Get a different view from the Warrior webcam this Christmas. Do you miss Portsmouth? Are you away for Christmas? See Portsmouth Harbour and the surrounding area like never before from the Mizzen Mast of HMS Warrior. The webcam streams in real-time - so be sure to check back throughout the day to get a closer look at your favourite spots.
