The Historical Huzzahs join us to perform a Second World War piece named “Project Home Fires”.
After a successful funding bid from the Heritage Lottery Fund, 'Historical Huzzahs' and the 'Theatre Royal Winchester' are pleased to present their Second World War piece “Home Fires”.
An interactive endurance performance exploring the stories of the those who ‘kept the home fires burning’ throughout the Second World War using verbatim recordings and theatrical retellings.
The project takes the form of a VE Day party, celebrating successes of the war with a Women’s Voluntary Service style café and an ir Raid Precautions post to create an immersive platform for the storytelling.
Performed at 11am and 3pm on Saturday 17 August and Sunday 18 August at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Free with a valid attraction ticket. The performance will be located outside (weather permitting) on main road or inside Storehouse 9.
