We've entered choppy waters and are closing our sites

We have loved safely welcoming so many of you back to our ships, museums and attractions; and seeing new faces explore the dockyard and our Gosport museums since we reopened in August.

Unfortunately, following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday 31 October, we are sad to confirm that Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be closed from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December 2020.

However, whilst we are closed, you will still be able to purchase a ticket. We are dependent on the money we generate to care for our ships and collections, and therefore any additional sales we can generate during this closure period is still extremely welcome. If you do purchase your ticket while we are temporarily closed, don’t worry it will only become active on your first visit.

For those of you who have already bought and booked your timeslots which fall during this period of closure, you don’t have to worry about calling to cancel – this will all be sorted for you. We have taken our timeslots offline for the time being, but as soon as we can confirm when we are able to reopen our doors, time slots will be made available.

If you have an enquiry about the dockyard or any of the attractions, our team will be reduced during the lockdown so emailing enquiries@historicdockyard.co.uk is the best way to get in touch. We will be busy but we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Whilst we are hugely disappointed not to be able to welcome visitors to the Dockyard and in Gosport. We do encourage people to follow us on social media where we’ll continue to share fascinating stories from our ships and collections, as well as any updates we have to share with you.

We hope to see you all again soon.
