Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is located within Portsmouth Naval Base with entry through Victory Gate at the corner of Queen Street and the Hard.

The Historic Dockyard is less than 5 miles from Junction 12 of the M27. Follow the brown Historic Waterfront signs from the M275 into Portsmouth.
There are 295 car parking spaces at the Historic Dockyard Car Park, which is situated approximately 400 yards from the main entrance. 17 of these are disabled parking spaces. This new under-cover car park has lavatories and a baby care suite for visitors. This car park has a height restriction of 2.1 metres (just over 6 feet).

Alternative Parking
If on arrival you find that this car park is full, please follow the signs to the alternative car parks locally which are signposted from Queen's Street or at Gunwharf Quays, which is within five minutes walk of the Dockyard.
Motorcycles
There is a designated area within the car park for 20 motorcyles. If you park within these designated areas, you will be eligible for 1/2 price parking (if you park in a standard car parking space this offer does not apply)
Camper Vans & Coaches
The Milldam Car Park car park will be available indefinitely for camper vans every Saturday and Sunday. It is situated directly behind Portsmouth Registry Office in Burnaby Road. The car park is clearly signed as 'Gunwharf overflow car park' and will be open daily from 8am to 7pm at a cost of £4 per day.
Drivers in Portsmouth can now pay for parking with their mobiles.. When using car parks and roadside spaces run by Portsmouth City Council, visitors can make a quick call instead of hunting for change.The pay-by-mobile system is being installed at the seafront first, but all council parking in the city will be included by the end of the summer. Coach parking continues to be available in St George’s Road and at the D-Day Museum in Southsea. The Historic Dockyard drop-off and pick-up point is at The Hard Interchange.
General Information
For those using satellite navigation devices, the post code of the Historic Dockyard is PO1 3LJ, however this will get you to the vicinity and then please follow brown tourism signs for the car park which is located in Admiralty Road.
The new Historic Dockyard car park in Admiralty Road and that at Gunwharf Quays meet the most up to date standards and are manned and covered by extensive CCTV surveillance. However, as with all car parks, visitors are strongly advised not to leave any valuables in their vehicles during their visit to the Historic Dockyard.
Save on Saturday's new Park and Ride!
A new Saturday Park and Ride service will operate on Saturdays and Public Holidays. Shoppers and visitors to Portsmouth will be able to park at Lakeside North Harbour and travel to the City Centre and Gunwharf Quays/the Historic Dockyard on the park and ride bus. It will cost only £2.50 for a car and up to 7 passengers! The first bus will start at 9am and the last bus will leave the Hard at 6pm. From the site, buses take about seven minutes to get to the city centre. The next stop, about five minutes later, is Gunwharf Quays, for the Spinnaker Tower and the Historic Dockyard. Users can hop between the two stops as much as they like.

Portsmouth Harbour Station / Hard Interchange coach and bus station is a few minutes walk from Victory Gate.
Rail
London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour is only a 90 minute journey and these run frequently. There are also regular services to and from Southampton Central with links to the South West and the West country.
