It’s A Naval Knockout

News release issued: 18th July 2012

Sunday 5th August 2012 – 11am-4.30pm

Victory Arena at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

FREE outdoor activities throughout the day, competition begins at 2pm.

As the nation turns its attention to sport, The National Museum of the Royal Navy is hosting its own games this summer with – “It’s A Naval Knockout”.  There will be fun for all the family throughout the day, with the chance to channel competitive spirit with plenty of kids’ and adults’ knockout games!

Teams will compete to win the Portsmouth 2012 trophy. To enter a team, you need five willing participants – a family, a five-a-side footy team or the greatest pub quiz team ever? There will be an event for everyone to excel at!

Once a team has entered, it is then left to decide who will represent at the Rodeo Bull Challenge?  And who has the patience for the cannonball and spoon race?  Team games will include a sack race, tug of war and a relay finale through tyres, under scramble nets and over an inflatable assault course.

All games will be for young and old alike, and just for fun.  Those who would rather spectate will still have plenty to see and do, including pin the medal on the Admiral, wound workshop, bungee run, cupcake decorating and float-a-boat, face-painting and balloon modelling.

Event Organiser, Molly Wilson, commented: “It’s going to be great with many activities running all day long and even free candy floss! Anyone can come throughout the day, and the competition will run from 2-4pm.  Come along and enter a team, there are lots of fantastic prizes to be won and it will be hilarious - just like the TV show was.”

Free event, but registration is required to enter a team.
