Accolades for Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
It’s been a good week for Portsmouth Historic Dockyard after it received accolades from the consumer watchdog Which? Magazine and popular daily newspaper The Daily Mail.
The Historic Dockyard was chosen by Which? as one of the UK’s top paid for heritage attractions. Which? visited heritage sites across the UK and rated them on facilities, quality and value for money. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard was ranked in the top ten – at number 6 – and scored highly in all three areas and was described by the Holiday Which? experts as “A great attraction for all age groups.”
The famous attractions at the Historic Dockyard scored 9 out of 10 with a report run by the Daily Mail’s Weekend supplement. Described as “A great historic day out – especially for nautical types” they also commented on the “excellent value” of the tickets.
Commenting on the publication of the reports, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard’s Managing Director Robert Bruce said: “This is really good news for us and positions the Historic Dockyard as a unique and fascinating attraction. With the reports coming hot on the heels of the great news about the Naval Base Review, the future for the Historic Dockyard is certainly looking very rosy.”
