Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be offering a feast of activities, trails, arts and crafts during Easter, with the chance to win some tasty treats.
The family friendly Easter programme runs from Saturday 3 – Sunday 18 April and visitors can enjoy spending time with the family in activities that see them transforming into Tudor or Victorian characters, globetrotting and enjoying Easter themed treats.
The Easter bunny has paid a visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard leaving a trail of hidden Easter pictures, visitors can take part in the self guided Easter Egg trail, taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th April (10am – 3pm). All Easter egg detectives will receive a small prize for their help and a raffle ticket to be entered into a prize draw at the Visitor Centre.
For visitors feeling particularly energetic, they can join an Easter egg trail on board HMS Warrior 1860, where they can also take advantage of the new dedicated family area for dressing up, role playing and arts and crafts.
Giving visitors a taste of Tudor life, the Mary Rose Museum will be offering the chance to have a go at spinning and weaving and to make and model their own Tudor hat to take home.
Intrepid explorers can discover ships, sea monsters and dragons at the National Museum of the Royal Navy and HMS Victory, and make their own mini-globes and sea creatures as well as discover more about the voyages of Captain Cook and Easter Island.
The activities include free drop in workshops and activities that are free with a valid Historic Dockyard ticket.
