Salary: £26,000- £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is recruiting an experienced Procurement Manager to join the Resources Directorate.

This new role will develop a professional procurement framework to support the business development in a rapidly changing and growing organisation. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Resources, and working closely with project managers and heads of department, the post holder will have the opportunity to establish and manage a fully compliant, effective procurement mechanism that supports the diverse parts of the business. The post holder will also be a key point of contact in relation to complex contractual arrangements, ensuring that we maximize value of money at every opportunity.

The successful applicant will be a key team member and will work on large scale, long term and exciting projects as well as contributing to improving our day to day business processes and delivering savings from contract reviews and reporting progress to management teams.

Knowledge/Experience

Applicants must have considerable professional experience in a procurement role, supported by a relevant professional qualification.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their commercial awareness and depth of knowledge of standards, best practice and developments relating to procurement and contract management

In addition, a breadth of understanding of public or charitable sector is desirable.

Applicants should also be good communicators with the ability to engage with external and internal stakeholders in order to develop partnerships.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is recruiting Team Members to join our Visitor Experience team at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Portsmouth.

Permanent positions

  • 2 x 30hours per week (28 in off peak). Two week pattern, including every other weekend
  • 22.5hours per week (21 in off peak) Two week pattern, including every other weekend
  • 20hours per week. Two week pattern, 4 hours shifts daily including every other weekend
  • 7.5hours per week (7 in off peak) Every Sunday
  • 4 hours per week Two week pattern; week 1 4 hours Saturday, 4 hours Sunday, week 2 no shifts

Fixed term contract 12 March-29 September 2018

  • 37.5hours a week. Two week pattern, including every other weekend
  • 30hours per week Two week pattern, including every other weekend
  • 22.5hours per week Two week pattern, including every other weekend
  • 18.75per week. Two week pattern, every Monday and Tuesday and every other Sunday
  • 5 x 8hours per week. 4 hours shifts every Saturday and Sunday
  • 6 x 20hours per week. Two week pattern, 4 hours shifts daily including every other weekend

Casual Positions

Various hours available to help cover annual leave and high peak times.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to work in a variety of settings in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, from HMS Victory and Warrior to all four of our retail outlets on site. You will also be working in the NMRN galleries, on M33 and in our newest addition, our very own café on board HMS Warrior.

Reporting to Duty Managers, these varied roles are pivotal in creating the NMRN’s vision to become the world’s most inspiring Naval Museum.

Knowledge/Experience

Experience of working in a customer focused environment with retails and sales knowledge is essential

Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and Security requirements and a willingness to learn more.

Track record of delivering outstanding customer care

Experience of working under pressure.

Experience of communicating and engaging with a wide and varied audience.
