A unique collection of over 1000 Tudor artefacts from Henry VIII�s purpose built warship. Learn about its amazing recovery from the seabed, view the finds and then see the hull, now undergoing conservation after an incredible 437 years under the sea.

Consider both life on board the Mary Rose and the continuing mystery of why she sank. Pupils use their evidence skills to examine a variety of conflicting sources. They handle a wide variety of replica artefacts found on board the Mary Rose. Pupils work in groups to identify them.

Motivate pupils to practice their maths skills with hands-on problem-solving activities based on jobs on board the Mary Rose. Weigh, measure and calculate rations with the Cook. Estimate and try out storage with the Purser. Learn new maths skills and knowledge to help the Gunner choose the right cannon-ball. Practice telling the time Tudor ship-style! The activities can be adapted to be accessed at different levels of ability

Inspire pupils with practical activities using replica artefacts from the ship to create their own poems. The Mary Rose team introduce children to a particular form of poetry and help them to develop original ideas while keeping to a set structure. Pupils are encouraged to write their own poem using adventurous language. Choose a poetic style to suit your pupils: kennings, haiku, dramatic monologue or tankas.
