Paid an impromptu visit when my son was taking part in Portsmouth 800 as a medieval re-enactor. I was not expecting such a great event with so much to do. Very enjoyable and excellent value for money!

My ancestor served on the Victory at the battle of 'T' - he was in charge of some guns on the starboard side and he was noted by the great man in his personal diary of which we have a reference at home!
Wanted to see what it was like - it was all I expected - a great day out all people should visit

My wife and I visited in early May. I was so impressed that I did a watercolour of The Warrior from a photograph. The historic dockyard and its contents must rank as one of the world's best exhibits. Hope you like the efforts of a rank amateur! Best regards, Tom Ryder.

My last visit was on "Navy Day" over 50 years ago. After all those years I plan to visit UK and Portsmouth again in early in June, along with my NZ wife of 40 years. I hope the Victory is as good as I remember it from 1955.

I visited last feb and am about to pay areturn visit with my son! I am a guide at Chatham Dockyard and we all came down to pay you a visit to "our ship"! Turns out you are looking after Victory very well! I liked the way she is fitted out and was impressed at the standards you have achieved!!! Your guide Terry was brilliant - even though we teased him about having pinched our ship! We still make the rope for Victory at Chathm - at least we can claim that link!
Warrior was just awe inspiring - it was like stepping on board the day she was completed!
The whole day was inspiring! I was touched at viewing Victory's sail....I give guided tours around the sail and colour loft at chatham where it was made! It's one thing to talk about it and another to actually see it!!
A great day out!!

What an incredible day! Each of the attractions (Victory, Mary Rose and Warrior) were a fantastic journey back in time and well worth the visit individually. Coupled with the Victorian Xmas event, with the actors, entertainment and markets, it made an unforgettable day out!

We visited 18th September and were pleasantly surprised by the ceremony for the unveiling of the museum and the "firing" of the Victory cannons. We were also lucky enough to see Mary Rose before it was closed. What a great day we had, our only problem was we ran out of time to see everything as we were only there for the day.

I enjoyed the enviroment of the whole experience and especially on a sunny day it is a wonderful attraction. With HMS Victory it has many floors and it has loads of fantastic guns and sleeping & dining areas. But with the Warrior it is a step back in time. The attraction has many kind guides and people. It was Brilliant! (:

I’ve been thrilled by naval history since my early childhood. During the years of the “iron curtain” that isolated communist countries it was hopeless even to dream about me visiting Britain one day and seeing Nelson’s flagship. However, the wind of change has blown at some time and the curtain fell. And here I am, on my 2009 birthday anniversary, sitting on Victory, at the same table where centuries ago stood the brave sailors and warriors whom I used to admire so much (probably it’s a replica wood table, but never mind …)
Also, I’d like to congratulate you for the attention paid on every detail and for the brilliant idea of creating an Action Station and other simulators (for example, the one in the Victory Museum where you can fire at enemy ships). You really made me feel a part of your history even if I’m a foreigner. And last but not least, I want to express my gratitude for the kind and friendly people of Britain whom I became very fond of.

We have just visited the dockyard - two families, seven people aged between 5 & 47. There was so much to see that it kept us occupied for two whole days - and we could have spent longer. All of us thought all attractions excellent. The kids were enthralled by the commentary from the Mary Rose - surprising for young ones.
A brilliant weekend and thoroughly recommended.

i don't how relevent this is. it was a number of years ago (around 25) i was staying in bournmouth but had the opportunity to visit navy days. i'm sure it was as the locals described it 'up pompeii'. i seem to remember a 'charlie chaplin ' street entertainer and i'm also sure i got a mild shower from the tall ships as they seemed to to spray water at the watching crowd (all in jest).

As yet I will not be visiting the dockyard until Saturday 18th july but am looking forward to seeing HMS Daring due to the fact that I served on the last ship to carry that name during the late 1960's. It was my first ship after training and will always be remembered for the great sense of humour and teamwork that prevailed and of course, a lot of great runs ashore with a good bunch of like minded mates.

I was on holiday with my partner and wanted him to see the wonders of the Royal Navy, I myself have been there numerous times (I think my Dad might just be getting tired of taking me!) and couldn't explain in words how wonderful the dockyards are. My absolute favourite has to be the HMS Victory. Thank-you all for keeping history alive. Keep up the good work. I hope to take my future children there too!

It was an absolutely brilliant visit well worth the money and traveling time to get to you. It was the first time Abigail had visited you and she has learned so much and is looking into more of the history now. We will be visiting again in the future with special attention to the opening of the new Mary Rose hall when it is finished.
