Mar 01 2012 - Mar 03 2012

Thursday 1 Saturday 3 March, 8pm nightly

CCADS production of "Frost/Nixon" A play by Peter Morgan

"When the President does it, that means that it is not illegal..."

In 1972, a break in was foiled at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel in Washington DC. Within days a connection had been made with the White House and the President Nixons closest aides. It unleashed one of the greatest scandals in modern American politics and ended with Nixons humiliating resignation. David Frosts interviews with Richard Nixon drew the largest audience ever for a news interview. Could this British talk show host, with no known political convictions, and a playboy reputation, be the one to elicit an apology from the man who committed one of the biggest felonies in American political history?Multi award winning Portsmouth theatre company CCADS bring this compelling, fast paced and witty play to the area for the very first time, following its huge success in London, on Broadway and as a heavily Oscar nominated film that featured its original stage stars Michael Sheen and Frank Langella. The unique setting of the Action Stations Auditorium within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be turned into the studio itself, placing you right at the heart of this brand new production that provides an exciting blend of live performance and multi media elements that is, quite simply, unmissable.

Tickets £10 / £8

Box office ticket sales only, call 08452 939350 or visit www.southseaboxoffice.co.uk

The Moonlit Memories walk is an exciting and challenging moonlit walk in aid of the Rowans Hospice across either a 12 mile, or for the first time this year a new 5 mile route. With the fifth anniversary walk starting at 11pm on Saturday 16 June from Castle Field, Southsea, and both routes taking in the spectacular sights of the Spinnaker Tower and HMS Victory illuminated for the night, the atmosphere on the walk is going to be electric. And of course, whether you choose the longer or shorter route, it will still include a visit to Portsmouth Cathedral for those who wish to light a candle in memory of someone who has died.
Organisers are hoping to encourage more people to take part in this memorable event and raise money for The Rowans Hospice which supports people with life limiting illnesses and their carers and families living in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
