  • A national event organised by English Heritage, which allows free access to buildings and the unseen collections of the Historic Dockyard. 

  • FREE – Numbers are limited & all tours must be booked in advance. Please contact 023 9272 8060 to reserve a place. 

  • Please note that 1 person cannot book more than 4 places per tour due to limited spaces. 

  • Also ALL individual's name, address and phone number will be required at the time of booking for Naval Base security reasons as you will be visiting restricted areas.

Behind The Scenes Tour Of The National Museum Of The Royal Navy
Join the Museum’s experts for these ever-popular tours behind the scenes. This is your chance to see the collections which cannot always be in our public exhibitions and to discover the history of the Museum’s magnificent ‘present use storehouse’ built in 1763.

The Block Mills Tour
Take this rare opportunity to have a guided tour around the world’s first complete steam powered factory, now disused, with blockmaking machinery invented by Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s father, Marc Brunel.

at Action Stations
Tours about the history of Boathouse 6 up to the present day, including Action Stations and InterAction gallery.

Tour the Dockyard’s Oldest Building
Take a guided tour of the Porter’s Lodge (1708), the Historic Dockyard’s oldest building and learn about the life and times of the Porter who unlocked the gate, rang the Muster Bell - and kept a very good cellar!
