Celebration of Steam

May 10 2008 - May 11 2008

Set against the backdrop of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, there will be industrial displays of traction engines and road locomotives at work, plus a variety of showman’s engines, miniatures, steam boats, model railways, steam fairground attractions and a ride-on railway.

This year, for families, there will also be a special appearance from Ivor the Engine and his friends.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard was one of the greatest industrial complexes in the world during the 18th and 19th centuries and now features the world’s first iron-hulled, armoured battleship HMS Warrior 1860 which combined steam and sail – a fitting backdrop for steam displays.  Entrance to HMS Warrior 1860 will be included in the ticket price and the whole site will be brought alive by late Victorian living history characters.

Tickets: Adult: £10, Senior/Child: £8, Family (2 adults/seniors & up to 3 children): £33
