Delve into the incredible stories and one-of-a-kind attractions that make Portsmouth Historic Dockyard an unforgettable experience. Discover the incredible Worlds Beneath the Waves and explore the secrets of the seabed. Create your own unique sea creature using AI or shape the ocean floor using AR technology, all while uncovering about the secrets hidden below the waves.  

Speaking of secrets, see the raising of the Mary Rose, told in immersive 4D, with Dive the Mary Rose 4D. Learn how she was able to stay hidden for hundreds of years at the bottom of the Solent and see her awe-inspiring return to the surface, told in stunning detail.  

Or maybe you want to know what it’s like for the serving men and women of the Royal Navy who make the underwater their home? Experience what life would have been like as a submariner onboard HMS Alliance, one of the few remaining submarines from World War Two, and see our fantastic collection at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is located at the heart of Portsmouth, just a short walk away from Gunwharf Quays.  

After a busy day of exploring our historic ships, incredible attractions, and unique location, you can relax at one of our on-site cafes. The Mary Rose Café serves delicious treats and barista coffees, with both indoor and outdoor seating.  

If you’re heading over the water to Gosport to visit Explosions Museum of Naval Firepower than be sure to stop off at the Camber Lights café. You’ll be able to find a selection of sandwiches, hot pasties, and cakes while taking in scenic views of Portsmouth Harbour.
